Phramongkutklao Hospital
Phramongkutklao Hospital was founded and originally named Phyathai Army Hospital in 1932 as a small-scale hospital for military personnel. In commemoration of H.M. King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) graciously granted permission for the hospital to be named "Phramongkutklao Hospital" on November 25, 1952. Over the years, Phramongkutklao Hospital has grown to become one of the largest teaching hospital in Thailand, offering over 30 postgraduate training programs in the various fields of medicine.
Phramongkutklao Hospital, a 1200-bed general hospital, is the largest medical facility of the Royal Thai Army (RTA). Located on Rajvithi Road adjacent to the Victory Monument. Phramongkutklao Hospital is right at the heart of Bangkok Metropolitan. It is a part of the Phramongkutklao Medical Center, a comprehensive network of medical care services and teaching hospital of the Royal Thai Army, comprises of a college of medicine (Phramongkutklao College of Medicine), a college of nursing (RTA College of Nursing), an institute of pathology (RTA Institute of Pathology), a research center (Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences) and a teaching hospital (Phramongkutklao Hospital).
Phramongkutklao College of Medicine
Phramongkutklao College of Medicine was established on June 16, 1975 in accordance with the Ministry of Defense order No. 75/18. The main campus housed in a complex with a distinguished history because it is also the site where King Rama VI's palace named Phyathai Palace located.
